Last year when our girls were only one my friend Leslie and I took them out for some lunch at this great little bakery called Sweetie-licious. But let’s be honest. It was neither about them or the lunch. It was an excuse for us moms to go and have some pie. And it was genius.
Over the years Michael and I have never really celebrated V Day, and this year was no different.
But I want to celebrate with my little lady (and Little Nugget too when she arrives). And it doesn’t hurt having another really great friend and little lady to celebrate with!
So we did it again. I think this can officially be called a tradition.
Seriously…how cute is this place? Red and pink and delicious all over. It’s such a great spot.
When we first got there Cedella ran up to Anna and they gave each other the biggest hugs ever, like they hadn’t seen each other in years. So. Damn. Cute. And then they danced. Cause that’s what they do…
Anna’s Daddy Mike stopped by to join us for a quick bite.
And he brought every single one of us ladies a rose. How nice is that?
Cedella loved her flower. And her juice box. She kept her flower all wrapped up and pretty like.
Anna thought her flower was much better on the floor. I think she’s just practicing being a flower girl.
Monk decided to show off her outfit by posing in the front window of the cafe.
And then it was time to check out all the delicious cookies in the case.
But check out this flashback to last year. How much they’ve grown and changed. They were so little and hairless. And they loved each other so much then and now.
How much they are just exactly who they are. Bossy, opinionated, sweet, sassy, too smart for their own good and oh so loving.
Looking at the pictures from last year is such a wonderful reminder of how lucky I am to have these girls in my life. To watch them grow, to get to know them. To always have a Valentine.
Needless to say it was a really great date for both of us Moms. Aren’t they just the prettiest?
And then there’s me and my Valentine. My little Monkey. My Mini-Me. I love this child.
And in case you’re wondering? I brought a Tom’s Cherry Cherry Berry pie home for Michael as his V Day gift. And it was…DELICIOUS!
Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Wordless/Wordful Wednesday!!
