I’ve got Cabin Fever. They’ve got Cabin Fever. We’ve got Cabin Fever. We’re in love.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself. It’s a catchy tune though, no?
Seriously. After the two weeks spent in the house dealing with and recovering from the flu we were all going bananas. But we got out of the house FINALLY last week.
And what a busy week it was.
Monday was our ‘slow’ day. Cause it was literally a snow day for all the school kids we just puttered around the house until it was time for our Babywearer’s meeting.
Tuesday we had a play date at Play with my girls Anne and Molly and their little ladies. Cedella and Sophia had a bit of fun, they were super affectionate when we were trying to leave. God they’re cute.
Then we came home and had an impromptu photo shoot while the girls were playing together. They were hamming it up…
more of these pics to come in their own separate post…
Wednesday That morning while someone was jumping on the bed I had a minor Parenting Fail moment. Funny enough I caught it on video. Way to go Mommy.
Cedella spent the day with her Jido while Izzie and I drove down to Detroit for my monthly book club meeting. We discussed ‘Wuthering Heights’ which I actually read (yay for audio books AND Kindle for getting me through this one). We actually talked about the book for almost an hour. This is a record for our group, since we usually end up gossiping and telling stories if a book is boring or just ‘OK’.
Thursday we picked Cedella up at Jido’s and went to swim class. Though you can’t really tell from this pretty bad iphone pic she did awesome! This picture shows Ella and the other little girl in her class and the two instructors practicing climbing in and out of the pool. She did it all by herself this time. So proud
Later we went back to Jido & Teta’s for dinner. Jido is leaving for 2 months to Arizona so we tried to squeeze as much time in with him as possible before he left.
Friday was gymnastics class. Can you die from the cuteness of these little ladies in their little leotards? I’m dying a bit.
Again, she did awesome. She is pretty fearless when it comes to doing the trampolines and balance beams. And she LOVES to do somersaults. LOVES. Her teacher Miss Kiki said she is doing great in class. Even Izzie had fun, getting to know her little friend Mia (Anna’s baby sister). Izzie is obsessed with babies right now, I don’t think she realizes that Mia isn’t a baby doll though. It’s a work in progress.
After gymnastics we went to Cafe and Bake Shop with Anna. This is what she calls Tim Horton’s. I call it Timmy’s. She calls it Cafe and Bake Shop, all formal like that. It makes me laugh EVERY time.
Saturday was another play date, this time at Impression 5 science museum with my friends Zaje and Mia. All the girls had a blast. They’ve renovated their young children’s area and it is awesome. How lucky are we to have 2 incredible indoor spaces to play at in Lansing? So lucky.
This is the water table area. Isn’t it great? The girls had so much fun playing in there.
Someone go a little bit too into the water and had an accident. And silly Mom only had a change of clothes for Izzie. So Cedella walked around the rest of the afternoon in capri pants in the middle of winter (really her baby sister’s 12M size leggings). Oh well, at least she wasn’t soaked and we didn’t have to leave, right?
Sunday we had an awesome dinner at Jido and Teta’s house and visited with them. We were having so much fun we forgot to check what time the Super Bowl was on, just assuming it was at 7. So we were packing up around 6:45 to go home and watch the game and realized the game had already started (thank you Facebook friends). As we rushed home both girls falling asleep in the car (awesome) but we knew it was a tricky situation cause either could wake up at any time during the night. We cracked some beers (Mmmmm Bitches Brew) anyways and had a little bit of grown-up alone time. It was nice.
Sure enough Izzie woke up at half time (she loves her some Beyonce)and stayed up for the entire rest of the game.
She was so wired I finally had to wrap her up in my carrier and after a bit of pacing around the house while eating spoonfuls of Chocolate Strawberry spread she finally fell asleep.
Then at 2am Ella woke up and wanted to watch TV. Unbelievable. The second Michael got home from work (3am) I handed off Ella, snuggled up with Izzie and went back to sleep. After a week like that I needed some rest!
What was your week like? Do you feel like collapsing by Sunday night too? Hope it was a good week! Happy WW!!

We get very REDRUM over here when we can’t get out for days. Glad everyone is feeling better!

I’m dizzy from reading about your active week. What’s the opposite of Cabin Fever, like when you miss being inside all day and dread having to go places? LOL!
